Dad Bod Landscaping is a Northeast Ohio-based landscaping company offering services like mowing, full-yard cleanups, mulching, and pressure washing. Their founder, Garrett, is an aspiring entrepreneur eager to grow his business’s presence. He approached PivotPoint for a website and logo refresh that matched the fun, approachable spirit behind the 'Dad Bod' name.

Getting to know the brand

We began with brand identity discussions to understand Dad Bod Landscaping’s ethos and goals. He envisioned a brand that’s approachable, reliable, and laced with humor. Homeowners and small businesses in Northeast Ohio are Garrett's primary audience, so we needed to craft an identity that values quality landscaping with a personal touch.

Discovering requirements

Next, we outlined the technical and creative requirements. Garrett wanted a single, impactful landing page to showcase services, build trust, and generate leads. Key needs included a responsive, mobile-optimized design, a clear call-to-action for booking services, and a simple contact form. The logo needed to stand out across business cards, vehicle decals, and digital platforms. We prioritized fast load times, SEO optimization, and accessibility to ensure broad reach and usability.

Logo exploration

For the logo, we explored concepts blending fun and professionalism. Initial sketches incorporated playful elements like lawnmowers, grass blades, and subtle nods to the “dad bod” physique, such as a stylized silhouette. We also refined two pre-existing generated logos: a Vitruvian-man-inspired dad-bod design and a man with a dad-bod pushing a lawnmower. We presented three logo directions: modern minimalist, bold and illustrative, and classic emblem. The final set included the revamped logos and a new silhouette of a man with a dad-bod mowing a “Dad Bod” wordmark, resulting in a cohesive and memorable logo that captured the brand’s personality.

Landing page exploration

The landing page design began with wireframes to map the user journey. We proposed three layouts (including traditional, modern, and playful styles) for Garrett’s review, each including key sections: Services, About Us, Our Work, and Contact Us. We tested color schemes complementing the logo, including greens, browns, and pops of yellow for a cohesive look. Interactive features, like hover effects on service cards and a “before and after” gallery, boosted engagement. After a few iterations, we finalized a design that was intuitive, visually striking, and aligned with Garrett’s vision.

Putting it all together

With designs finalized, we moved to development. Using a modern tech stack tailored for performance, we built a fast, responsive site meeting all requirements. The contact form integrated with a third-party service for lead capture, and we applied SEO strategies, like keyword-optimized headings and meta descriptions, to enhance discoverability. The logo was delivered in multiple formats for Garrett’s marketing needs. We rigorously tested the site across devices and browsers to ensure a seamless experience for all users. The site launched on schedule, and Garrett was thrilled with the polished, professional outcome.
